I'm gonna run to you...
I dreamed that I saw Dali with a supermarket trolley
He was trying to throw his arms around a girl
He took an open top beetle through the eye of a needle
He was tryin' to throw his arms around the world
I'm gonna run to you...

Trying to Throw Your Arms Around the World by U2 (live version)
Transcribed by Richard Zangoli.
I saw that there were the chords to this gorgeous song on the archive but as
yet nobody had transcribed the live version from the Zoo TV concerts. I
transcribed it from a bootleg CD that I have but I presume that most
versions would be reasonably similar. Tune down half a step.
This is the main riff-
E-----------------------12--------------------------------------12-----12--
B--------10--9--10----------10--9--10-------10--9--10----9--10-----10----10-9-10
G-----9-----------------------------------9-----------------------------------
Edge varies it often during the verses and here are some examples of his
variations.-
E-----------------------12---------------12----12s/14s/12----
B--------10--9--10------------9--10-------------------------- another
variation
G----9---------------------------------------------------------is-
[E-------------------------------------------]B--------10--9--10--12--10--9--10------- and so on. This should be enough for
G---9--------------------------------------- you to work with
Then there is the break where Edge plays some open chords. He plays
A
E
D
A
and then
A
E
D. Listen to the song for the timing. Right after he playsthese chords he does something that sounds pretty much like-
E---------------------0-----------
B----2-------2---3-------3------- a few times.
G--------2---------------------2--
He then goes back to the main riff (and variations thereof) for a bit and
then he plays the following-(hopefully he does something similar on other
versions as well)-
E-------------------12----------------12--12s/14s/12--------------------12---10
-------10--9--10--------------9--10---------------------------------10---------
G------9------------------------------------------------------------------------
E---9--10--9-------s/12---10--9-------10--9-----------------------12--10--9--10-
B-------------------------------------------------12--10------------------------
